Scriptures for my children

I’m planning to create a gallery wall, or feature, of printed scripture quotes in the boys’ nursery. I know they’re some way off from being able to read it themselves but I like the idea of having some passages always around them in their room that are either helping to “teach them the way that they should go” (Proverbs 22:6) or showing them some of God’s promises for them.

There are so many to choose from but so far my shortlist is as follows.. When I get the chance to make a nice display out of them I’ll be sure to post a picture!

I want to have bold, confident children who know their worth regardless of whatever society, or life, wants to tell them about themselves..

Be bold and courageous. Do not be afraid, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. [Joshua 1:9]

God is within her, she will not fall. [Psalm 46:5]

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind [2 Timothy 1:7]

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. [Psalm 139:14]

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. [Phillipians 4:13]

I want them to know that God is always with them..

I will never forget you. See, upon the palms of my hand I have written your name. [Isaiah 49:16]

Do not worry because I am with you. Do not be afraid because I am your God. I will make you strong and help you. [Isaiah 41:10]

Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you. [Hebrews 13:5]

That He loves them and knows them..

Mightier than the waves of the sea is His love for you. [Psalm 93:4]

And that He is always looking after them. God has their backs!

Under His wings you will find refuge. [Psalm 91:1]
I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. [Isaiah 46:4]
You need not fear the terror by night, nor the arrow that flies by day. [Psalm 91:5]

In peace will I lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. [Psalm 4:8]

But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you and keep you from evil. [2 Thessalonians 3:3]

He guides me along the right paths, for His name’s sake. [Psalm 23:3]

He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted. [Job 5:9]

But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.[Philippians 4:19]

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight [Proverbs 3:5-6]

There’s rather a lot there! So I’ll have to work on the list lol. Maybe I’ll use a nice erasable format so I can update it with different verses at different times. Like a whiteboard.. But pretty πŸ™‚ .. Watch this space!

Penny for your thoughts:

Which Β Bible verses would you want your children to grow up with? Have you done anything similar? I’d love to see how you did it!
